Student Government The sound ofa gavel and the meeting is called to order. Business is carried out as usual, each member holds an agenda, treasurerts report and minutes. The plans are assembly competitions, a car smash, a party for Student Council advisors and a Computer Dance. A look back sees activities such as the Frosh Welcome Dance, Homecoming Week with the Tommy Johnson Quintet at the dance and '4Happenings,' including a Sing Ins' and a HChristmas Happening? Also sponsored by Student Council was the Confrontation for Progress, the Intra-School Conference which was designed to help find and solve problems on Campus. A.S.B. President, Second Semester, Carol Trainor. First Semester A.S.B. President, Harvey Gise, receives best wishes from Principal Inglis after his graduation from EUHS in January.

Student Council Advisors this year were Mr. Bill Bourgeois, Mr. Bob Cooper and Mr. Ted Kramer. A.S.B. cards were sold by Student Council members last fall. Confrontation for Progress 1 4 g'The All Americans entertained at the afternoon assembly and gave a rousing show. 1 ,aa Parents, students and teachers swapped ideas and suggested solutions to EUHS problems during the dayls discussion groups. Dr. Leonard Grindstaff, Riverside County Superintendent, spoke at the morning assembly. The lntra School Conference, held on March ll, was sponsored by the Student Council. Its purpose was to discuss and come up with possible solutions to problems with modular scheduling, discipline, race relations, and school policies. Students, parents, and faculty members freely discussed the issues and attempted to resolve the conflicts faced at EUHS. It was a gallant first effort on the part of student government to close the many gaps between generations, and the school and the community.
