The Senior Class Play This year ' s energetic senior class produced one if thj most outsta;.diiig plays ever produced in the ELiaore Union High School. Aclivitiy on the play began by appoin ' ing a com- mittee to select the play. This committee had four members; Miss S.:lby. Miss Olson, Margare. Hollis- ter, and Claire Liilie. Miss Selby and Miss Olson went to Los Angeles for a week-eind to pick out some possibilities and brought back two. The Charm School and Ever Since Eve. The latter was finally chosen. Buzz Evans then asked for volunteers for the different jobs, anrl aopo nt;d the following: Sauser stage manager; Phyllis Zittell, property manager; Harvey Root, business manager; Eva Mae Boggs. Prompter; and Beryl Baldwin with H. L. Hyatt, stage managers. A meeting was soon called for those interested in trying out for the cast and Iry-outs were held. Those making the grade were: Irma Shaw as Mrs. Clover; Claude Townsend as Johnny Clover; Curtis Thompson as Mr. Clover; Bob Jennings as Spud Erwin: Claire Liilie as Susan Blake; Pat R omsey as Betsy Erwin; Helen Nicolas as Martha Willard; Bud Barnes as Henry Quinn; Mary Lou Morrell as Lucybelle Lee; Terrell Root as Preston Hughes; and Clarence Harrison, Beryl Baldwin, Billy Sagado as football players. After the cast was chosen, work was started on the stage. Many difficulties were encountered, but because of effort on the part of the stage manager and crew the difficulties were overcome. The stage crew members were: Rudy Sauser, H. L. Hyatt, Beryl Baldwin. Mr. Curtis and Carlo Nielson. Miss Selby and Mr. Church were the directors and had a hard time getting practice under way, with the stage crew running all over the stage and hanging from rafters. Tlie finishing touches were put on by Carl Cauch. The programs were made by Miss Olson ' s class, with the aid of Pat Romsey. Pat and Ed Perret also made posters which were put up about the town and valley. The week before the play the town was canvassed and many tickets were sold. Large crowds attended both performances. At the end of the night perfor- mance Miss Selby was presented with flowers and Mr. Church received a wallet as tokens of appre- ciation.
