1942 Seniors 1942 The senior class of 1942 started t!ie new year with Floyd Evans at the helm as president. At a business meeting, held early in the year, plans were laid for various class activities. Starting the year right by taking their annual ditch day, the seniors bundled off to the snow at Big Pines in January. Afler a day of hill-climbi ng, snow-balling and teeth-chattering, the weary upper- classmen adjourned to the comforts of the lodg; fire-place and the symphonic arrangements of the Juke Box. Late in the afternoon, in a more or less dried-out condition, they came trudging home, sled runners askew. Shades of Hamlet were presented when the senior Thespians trod the boards of E.U.H.S. and presented Ever Since Eve. An exceptional turn- out of appreciative spectators, each foitunately bringing wi.h him the required admis.iiom fee, crowned the intensified efforts .,{ the ca t by ex- panding the class treasury ' .o a grand total ot $100. In May the play cast enjoyed a we 1-earn d weiner bake and skating party, along witli the co-direc ors of the production. Miss Selby and Mr. Church. In keeping with tradi.icn, the sfaiors enjoyed their annual banqu-t at the expense of tr.e juniors. The Junior-Senior banquet v. as held ihis year in the Woman ' s Club, and proved to be the highlight of the year. After a delicious dir ner the banquet broke up in.o smaller par.ies, .hi-h attended shows in Riverside aind Los Angeles. As has been the cu toin in previous years, the seniors continued their banc|uet dissipat.on with a breakfast on the morning of graduation day. On June 9, the seniors, bedecked in ll.eir b ' lus caps and gowns, received t.eir diplomas at a for- mal ceremony attended by th ir parents and friends.
