In honor of one who will be missed sincerely, WE, the 1976 Journalism Class, would like to dedicate this Smoke Signal to our Principal, Mr. James Mayes. The principal faces many conflicts: on one side the student body: on the other, the faculty and school board. However, he must face the challenge and retain the respect of others. Mr. Mayes will step down from this position and surrender it to another, who we hope will do as fine a job as he has. Nothing Gold Can Stay Nature's first green is gold. Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; but only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief. So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. 3 (food (J(e oUefiooi P )a(js (Past Jo ' Peifnl 1 cjiafl! J ol ' Pm JPw ' ) I'nif Jijfm Through this toilsome world alas! Once aqd only one I pass; If a kindness 1 may show.
