Manager Ad Manager Photographers Denise Calvin Carla Howard Sales Manager Sponsor Dedication In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the Smoke Signal, the Journalism Class of 1974 wishes to dedicate this edition to Gary Nuhn and Peg Farmer, A principal % position is one of the most difficult to fulfill. On one sidehe is faced with students and teachers, the other the Superintendent and School Board. He is faced with opposition, yet he must remain firm to retain his respect. Gary Nuhn is leaving this position to another which we hope he will find edu- cational, enjoyable and fulfilling. This year many people regret the leaving of a wonderful person. This is a per- son who not only teaches Spanish, but who also in her seven years at EHS has been an advisor and friend to many students. She has dedicated her life to family, friends and the field of education. She will long be remembered in our history, our lives. SENIORS Treasurer: Vonderahe Shrum Reporter; Nena Galloway S. C. Now we're older and we've changed. But have we? It seems so, but once again we're starting out for a new be- ginning. We're on our way to new things our futures and our careers. High School days are over, and college days begin. We each go separate ways and our high school years become lasting and happy memories. We CAN count the stars and see Through them a brilliant, shining tomorrow. Our dark years of insecurity, doubt, And lack of self-confidence have Seemingly faded away; But they are still in our memories and Will act as the framework for our Final and most glimmering year - our Senior year. Instead of looking back and turning Our thoughts to old skies, we are Ready to accept the responsibilities Of our new frontiers. We're ready to add another. But now we've made our mark and belong. Belong - In one sense to the world of books, blackboards, and teachers; In another sense to the social world of basketball games, dances, and who's dating whom. Putting past achievements and failures behind, We're looking forward to the next phase. This phase also holds achievements. It also holds failures. But we still look forward with hope and expectation. Because with each failure the hope of a future accomplish- ment makes it brighter and bearable. Debbie Thurman It was a wonderful year. We laughed - We cried - We made it. And most of all, received a taste of growing up. Adjustment time over; Now eager to explore and take advantage of time in the future. The greatest lessons we learned were not those in textbooks, but from experience itself. The road we travelled was new and exciting and it led us to a broader and brighter spectrum. We faced new situations and conquered. We faced a new beginning and now anticipate the end.
