Memoriam 1968 was a year when many a man gave his life for his brother, whether it was a politician running for office, a minister trying to bring his people together, or a young man scarcely out of high school. This young man fought in a far off land and tried to keep our country free. He was mortally wounded while trying to carry an injured brother to safety. Sergeant Arlin Darrell Collins was such a man. Though there were praises to his courage, medals to his bravery, and a monument to his memory, these could not begin to compensate for the loss in- curred by his family and friends. Therefore, we, the 1969 Yearbook Staff dedicate this page in memoriam, as our humble tribute to Sergeant Collins, and express our belief that his death was not in vain. 10
