KUW: Melvin Stone, Vice President; Tom Burke, President; David Schaffer, Sergeant-at-arms SECOND ROW: Linda Gray, Parliamentarian; Libby Houston, Treasurer; Sydie Wipke, Secretary; Linda Bowles, Reporter Cl a JJ After eight industrious grade school years, the Class of '62 eagerly became students of E. H. S. As Freshmen, we chose for President, David Schaffer. Under his capable leadership, our class proved its ability by winning first prize for the Fall Festival float, The Freshman Blast . Althougn this was only the beginning, we felt that our stay within the halls of E. H. S. would be a delightful one. At the beginning of our Sophomore year, an outstanding student, Tom Burke, became our leader. Later that year, he was wisely selected to represent us on the Sophomore Pilgrimage. During our third term at E. H. S., we presented a mystery-comedy, It Walks At Midnight . The general agreement was that the production showed evidence of great talent. Also, we happily learned that Libby Houston was chosen Smoke Signal Queen. We watched excitedly as Larry Cordsiemon was crowned Twerp King. During this year, Melvin Stone, our President, led us quite efficiently. At the end of this successful term, Billy Bob Watts and Tom Burke were chosen to attend Boys' State, while Linda Bowles attended Girls' State. Virginia Downing received the D. A. R. History Award. Another fun-filled year at E. H. S. had disappeared. Now, as Seniors, we have many more accomplishments we are proud of. Our play, The Great Big Doorstep , was a smash hit. At the Homecoming Dance, Linda Galloway was crowned Homecoming Queen. From our class, too, Virginia Downing, a gifted future homemaker, re- ceived the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award. The leadership of our popular President, Tom Burke, has been excellent. It is true that soon we shall leave the classrooms and halls of E. H. S., but as souvenirs we are taking with us precious friendships and countless memories. 9 HOUSTON, LIBBY li BURGER, JEANETTE HATFIELD, LAURALU WATSON, MAYRIS SHAFFER, RAYMOND WATTS, BILL TANNEHILL, IRENE STONE.
