Elon students get a glimpse at LIFE IN THE USSR China and Mongolia A group of 17 students accompa- nied by Dr. David Crowe spent a month during the summer touring the U.S.S.R., China and Mongolia. The Study Abroad adventure also includ- ed trips to Siberia and Hong Kong. Though the group ' s itinerary kept them pretty busy, they occasionally found time to relax and catch a few rays. At left, students spend time along the Li River just outside Guilin. Below, students visited the Sum- mer Palace (left) and Forbidden City (right) in Beijing, China ' s capital city. Everywhere they went, students found friendly people, including this man, bottom left, at the Forbidden City.
