JCaura Beckett Keigns as Queen Laura Beckett, a senior business administration major, was crowned Homecoming Queen during halftime festivities on October 3. Tine president of Sigma Sigma Sigma, she represented Sigma Phi Epsilon in the queen competition. The Court included Shelli Mackay, representing Kappa Sigma, first runner-up; Krista Lee, Zeta Tau Alpha, second runner-up; Barbara Gordon, Kappa Alpha, third runner-up; and Lori McManus, Alpha Sigma Alpha, fourth runner-up. In the float competition. Kappa Sigma took first, followed by Sigma Sigma Sigma and Sigma Ph i Epsilon (tie), KA and Zeta. Zeta won the fundraiser competition, followed by KA, Alpha Omi- cron Pi, Kappa Sigma, and Sig Ep. In the skit competition, Tri Sigma took first place, followed by Sigma Pi. Alpha Phi Omega and KA tied for third, and Zeta took fourth. Barbara Gordon won the punt, pass and kick contest, followed by Deborah Coulbourn, Student Union Board. Debra Stuart, representing Kappa Alpha Psi. rode through the Homecoming Parade in style, escort- ed by Darryl Brittain (driver) and Tim Carlton. Shelli Mackay. representing Kappa Sig- ma, was first runner-up. Her escort is Jay Vorhees. Despite being surrounded by Lenoir- Rhyne bears, running back Dwayne Clark manages to hang on to the ball for another Eton first down. 14 A Way of Life
