Shadows from the Oaks Provide Peace Take a walk at night and do not lose yourself in your own thoughts. Notice the world. The lights flic- ker; the shadows fall. Is your imagination playing tricks on you? Is the world taking on an eeriness? Maybe so! But these shadows — as unreal as they seem — are a parr of reality. Many things in life are just as shadows — being reel and unreal at the same time. An example was the awesome unrealness of that first flight into space which we knew was very real. But was it really possible or even probable? This description could be said of anything new and different. So when walking among shadows, do not fear the unknown. Run to meet the new and the unreal reality of life to come. •V . ' Colors from reflected light are these ort students bosic tools. An Elon lomp shines over the compus ' paths in the darkness.

Entertainment for All . . . The lighted pathway of the Colonnades sym- bolizes our lighted pathway to knowledge. We are guided down the long road into the future by the lights that shine along the way, and this future will not be a successful one without the knowledge we obtain as we walk the path Just OS the lights of the Colonnades light our path to knowledge, so does knowledge illumi- nate the path into the future. The knowledge we obtain here will remain with us throughout our lives and will determine to what extent we succeed or fail in our efforts to reach our goals. The lighted path is here for all to follow; it leads to knowledge and a successful future. Ham it up! The spotlight is on your talents. Girls from New Dorm, over the net and on Pull and tug!
