The liberal arts training which you have received here on the campus of this Christian college will help you immeasurably as you take your place as a responsible citizen in society and as a useful member of your chosen profession. We hope that, as a result of your training here, that several changes have taken place. First, we hope that you have learned to think. The world desperately needs people who can think objectively and creatively about the problems which face m.ankind, particularly those in the realm of human affairs. Many of you are qualified to help in meeting this need. Seconci, we hope that your faith in the Christian way of living has been strengthened. As you leave this campus may you be nnore concerned about your fellow man, your relation to each other and to God. May you leave with a spirit of dedication to the Christian way of life and with a determination to give yourself wholeheartedly in helping to bring a spirit of love, cooperation, and peace to all the world. It is our hope that Elon College has given you adequate and thorough preparation and our prayer that God will give you guidance, wisdom, courage and strength for the living of these days.
