n OF MR. W. CLIFTON ELDER Mr. W. Clifton Elder of Burlington, N. C, is an industrialist, a civic leader, and a public spirited citizen. Mr. Elder was born in Alamance County, educated in the public schools of the county and at Elon College. He was graduated from Elon College in the Class of 1925. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Elon College and is one of the original Directors of the Elon College Foundation. He has served as President of The General Alumni Association and took the lead in providing a baseball park for the college. He has been in the forefront of e ery campaign for the college, giving freely of his time and money for the progress, stabili- ty, and efficiency of Elon College. Oun, P udeiii The Class of 1950; It has been your privilege to be students in Elon College as it begins to move towards greater things. You have seen the curriculum broadened, the faculty increased, the student enrollment reach its highest peak, the Student Government revised and improved, and the Honor System installed which is now beginning to function efTectively. You have seen the new power house completed and in operation. You have .seen the gymnasium completed and in use. You have seen a ' large number of homes for faculty members built and occupied. You have not only seen these improvements but you have helped to make many of them possible. I know that you are proud to have had a part in these evidences of progress in your Alma Mater.
