It has many faults and those who are responsible for them realize this more than those who read it. It might have been much better if — many ifs. But under the circumstances it is the best we could do. We do not hope for praise, however, we only ask that you be lenient with your censure. Even if you do not appreciate it now, we shall feel that our modest efforts have not been wast- ed, if, at some day in the future, when we have scattered apart, this book will be the cause of pleasant reminiscences of happy days spent at Elon.
