CLASS PROPHECY I walked into my partner's office the other day to consult him on a case we were handling. I Whom should I see but Hal Brown, who is now the president of a large corporation. Hal wanted to consult George Morningstar, who is my partner, and me on the legal as- pects of a merger of his company with another. As our conversation progressed, the three ofus began a reminicence of our high school days. We gave Hal quite a surprise when we called in our secretary, whois none other than Shirley Crouse. Hal told the three of us of a reunion of our class which he had attended last month. We were very eager to hear him, for the three of us had been in court with a case at the time and were unable to attend the re- union. Hal told Shirley, George, and me all the latest news about our friends and former classmates. I shall now pass this on to you: Pam Boone teaches at the Elon elemen- tary school. She is married and has two boys. One of her good friends is Rena Tickle, who is coaching the girl's bas I hear Elon hasn't lost a game. Linda Wil- liams also teaches at Elon. She has taken Mrs. Johnston's place as music teacher. Judy Steele has her own dance studio. Her daughter and her son really dance up a storm. Ann Kernodle is a secretary at Hughes Motor Company, which is owned by her hus- band Luther Andrews. They sell Ann's fav- orite car - Pontiacs. Freda Setzer, Carolyn Smith, and Judy Kelley are secretaries at Western Electric. Each has a wonderful husband. Melba Hensley and Gail Smith are pri- vate secretaries to two of our Senators. Boy, what an exciting time they must have! Sarah Barnes and Joann Schmidt are nurses at a Charlotte hospitalv They really have those doctors going around in circles. Bobby Burgess and Joe King are in the army. Their Sergeant is Dean Queen. David Wagoner, who was always up in the clouds, is now in the Air Force. David White is an admiral in the navy. He has a girlin every port. His friend, Webster, is a chiefpetty officer in the navy. Sam and his attractive wife and their two husky sons are stationed in Florida. Ken Ferrell is with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. ,Glenn Goss and Jackie Caldwell are professional baseballplayers. They play for the Milwaukee Braves. Those two boys are batting a thousand. Bill Hughes liked the Industrial Edu- cation Center so much that now he is prin- cipal. Bessie Holt works in Bill's office as file clerk. David Andes is a well-known psycho- logist. He has discovered a cure for.mental illness. Anita White is a research chemist with Dupont. She is working on a drug that will enable people to live forever. Palmer Burch is an airline pilot with Eastern Airline. Eddie Dunkley is manager of Saunders Distributors, Incorporated. Joe Loy has one of the largest farms in the state. Sue Johnson and Rebecca Rumley are beauticians. They own the Johnson and Rum- ley Salon in Greensboro. The favorite T.V. show among the teen- agers is hosted by Danny Whitaker. He plays all the hottest records. David Lassiter is a department head at Western Electric. Lewis Wilborn and Billy ' HT Brown are his right hand men. Mike Phillips, Joe Winstead, and David Thompson are building a power plant in South America. This plant will bring power to the remotest corners of the continent. Lynda Daniels is married toa minister. They have three little Lyndas and one Larry. Donna Johnson is a housewife. She and Leevon have two lovely children. Sue Burge and Janice Hensley married their dream men. These two are seen shop- ping together quite often. Brenda Wright married Roger Keck. They now own Belk's Department Store. I have just given you a brief look into the lives of the members of the Elon College High School graduating class of 1961. Bonnie Longest Class Prophetess

ARTICLE I To our Alma Mater, Elon College High School, we leave our deep and sincere appreciation for the op- portunities of knowledge and friendship that we have acquired here. ARTICLE II To Mrs. Terrell we extend our deepest gratitude for the interest and leadership she has shown us these past four years. We also wish to thank Mrs. Mucken- fuss for her guidance in our senior year. ARTICLE III To the faculty, we leave our deepest appreciation for their help in our studies, our social activities, and in all our problems. ARTICLE IV To the Student Body, we leave our undying love for Elon High and hope that they will have as many happy memories as we have had. I, Jackie Caldwell, will my good looks and sleepy ways to Bobby Green. I, Shirley Crouse, leave all my love to Bruce Conklin. I, Lynda Daniels, leave my title as sweetest to Kaaren Brown. I, Eddie Dunkley, leave my title as Biggest Flirt land the girls to go with itl to Doug Humphrey. I, Ken Ferrell, leave my jumprope to Doug Wag- oner fif I ain't here to use it!J I, Glenn Goss, will my position as forward to Den- ny Wagoner, hoping he can get along with the referees better than I did. I, Janice Hensley, leave my title as Wittiest to Janie Hyatt. I, Melba Hensley, leave my ability for being late to class to Louise Blanchard. I, Bessie I-Iolt, leave my giggling to Jo Ann Lowe. I, Bill Hughes, leave my ability to hold down a Chevy to Doug McAdams. Slow clown, boy. I, Donna Johnson, will my corner desk in study hall to some lucky person. I, Sue Johnson, leave my sewing ability to Ann Rich. I, Judy Kelley, leave my title as cutest to Kaaren Brown. I, Ann Kernodle, leave the fun I had on the Blue Goose to all the up-coming cheerleaders. I, Joe King, will my typewriter to anyone that will use it wiser than I!
