The Long and Winding Road Elmwood Public School Elmwood, Nebraska Volume No. 37 The long and winding road of educa- tion traveled by the seniors has come to a fork. Many paths branch out from this road and each of us will choose a trail in a separate direction and follow it. Although we may not be able to see where our road will lead, we will journey on until we reach the end of our lives. Our paths may never cross again, but the memories we have of each other will not be left along the way. The yearbook staff has tried to capture moments from the 1983-84 school year so that we will not forget in the years to come. We dedicate the 1984 Pirate to the generations of the future who will travel the same long and winding road as we have done. It was a great game but ended in a disappointing defeat for the pirates. But this didn’t hurt the pirates’ spirit. An enthusiastic group was ready to dance and celebrate Homecoming the next night. The royalty candidates were Kendra Pointer, Ken Kunz, Sue Stubbendeck, Tim Callaway, Kristi Wendt, Gary Vogt. The junior attendents Angie John and Tim Rorie crowned Ken Kunz and Sue Stubbendeck king and queen. Assisting in the coronation were Becky Dankleff and Nathan Peterson as the crown bearers. Honoring the departing seniors, an elegant banquet dinner was served at the Methodist Church and then the group was enter- tained by the All American Music Show later at the prom dance in the school auditorium. Decorated in the colors of burgundy, pink and cream. The gym was transformed into a magical setting providing the group with wonderful memories for years to come. Entertaining the audience Ken Kunz awarded the senior wills to deserving juniors. 4 Missy Zoz wisely prophesied the future for anxious seniors.
