75 Pirate-Seasons In The Sun Goodbye to you, my trusted friend. We’ve known each other since we were nine or ten. Together we climbed hills and treee, Learned of love and ABC’s Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees. We had joy; we had fun. We had seasons in the sun. But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time. Dawn. The sun bursts over the horizon. A while later the alarm clock rings, beckoning us to another day of school. No matter the season the “good old school’’ was always there with the people that made it, and our world, go. These past four years high school and all its’ activities were certainly a big part of our lives, whether our interests lie in sports, music, or drama. Even more important than our classes and activities were the people who shared them with us. Going on to the next class didn’t seem so bad. knowing your friends would be there too. And not only our fellow classmates but the teachers who usually did their best to make the class fun and interesting while making sure we learned something. High school is a time for growing. We are in the process of becoming adults and are saddled with responsibilities and we suddenly realize we must live up to expectations. Not only expec- tations of others but more importantly expectations that we ourselves decide we want to live up to. It is a time for setting goals and beginning the long climb for them. High school is a time of mixed emotions. Sometimes the thrill of winning a Tuesday night basketball game can be quenched by the realization that you’ve got to go home and study for three tests the next day. Or the feeling of frustration when all your school-work piles up that changes to a sense of accomplishment when you get it all finished and handed in. High school is indeed an important time in our life. That’s why we have this yearbook. Oh, we know we can’t stop time or capture memories on paper but we can capture pictures and words that will help stimulate our memories in years to come. Thinking back on our years at EHS we realize we did have a lot of joy and fun even when the sun wasn’t shining.
