BAND NEWS During the 1950-91 season the band has made considerable improve- ment. It consists of 31 members, including 19 high school students and twelve grade school students. This year the band has appeared at the Junior Class Play, Senior Class Play, Cass County Music Contest, and the District Music Contest. The band came through with high honors in both contests. Through the efforts of the Band Mothers, the band members received new jackets to complete their uniforms. This made a great improvement in the anpearance of the band members. This past year the band has acquired three new members. They are: Cheryl Miller, Carol Kunz, and Ned Totman. We know that the absence of the four Seniors will be greatly missed, but we are sure there will be others capable of taking t eir places.

Two members were chosen from each class to form a Pep-Club commit- tee. This committee carried on the business for the Pep Club. Those representing the classes were: Cheryl Miller, Dorothy Brakhage, Freshmen: Shirley Hall. Shirley Messelhiser, Sophomores; Marjorie Kirchhoff, Eleanor Brunkow, Juniors; Janice Rung and Frances Schick, Seniors. The Pep Club girl? sold apples, candy, pop-corn, peanuts, hot dogs and pop at the football games and the Tournaments. With this money they purchased warm-up pants for the basketball team. On February 22, the girls held a Valentine tea for the mothers of the High-School students. Thirty-one were present. Each mother was presented with a corsage. Four girls entertained the mothers with a short program. They were: Janice Kunz, Eleanor Brunkow, Dorothy Nannen and Joyce Eidenmiller. Immediately following, refreshments were served by the Pep Club Committee. From all favorable comments the Pep Club is planning to make this tea and annual affair. —14—
