TINAZ CAN This year Elmwood Community High School participated for the first time in the Ameri- can Field Service program. It has been a rewarding and happy experience. Success has been achieved greatly through the warmth and personality of Tinaz Can, our student from Turkey. Tinaz came here from Ankara, Turkey, where she had been a student at the Ankara Girls' Lyceum, She was very. active there and played on the school's handball and volleyball teams. Tinaz was also a member of the school's literature club. Tinaz is now enrolled as a senior at Elmwood Community High School, but she is taking two junior subjects which are concerned with the United States: American history and Ameri- can literature. As a senior Tinaz was voted Homecoming Queen this fall. She is a member of the Ulmus Staff and G.A.A. Under the terms of the organization which sent her here, Tinaz will return to Turkey af- ter graduation. She plans to enter the Technical University of the Middle East in Ankara next fall.
