Class History The scene 1S the E C H S gym and we flnd two of 1ts students s1tt1ng on the bleachers rem1n1sc1ng the past four years Do you remember back 1n 1954 when flfty elght of us flrst came here? We never thought we d remember where our classrooms were Sure I remember Mlss Rlsen and Mr Cady were our class advlsors And there was the confuslon of our flrst class meetrng But we flnally elected Tom Jones Presldent Iackle Mlles V1ce Pres1dent Let1t1a Steer Secretary 11m Frult Treasurer and Elleen Wagner Reporter We sure have had a lot of fun slnce then There were only flfty three of us our sophomore year but lt seemed llke we part1c1pated 1n a lot more school act1v1t1es Yes we d1d We sponsored an all school party and co sponsored a dance Wlth the Jumors And we can't forget the b1ology class trlp to Chlcago ln May of that year Mr Cady sponsored the tr1p and Bob Cox drove the bus That was a lot of fun! Duane Runyon was Presldent of our class wasn't he? Yes and Jack Iordon was V1ce Presldent D1ck Whltney Secretary Treasurer and Iackle Mlles Reporter I ll never forget our Junlor year when we flnally became upperclassmen There were forty elght of us then We elected Nancy Glenn Presldent Iack Jordan Vlce Presldent Barb Harns Secretary Duane Runyon Treasurer and Mary Bourgoln Reporter Mrs Monroe and Mr Serup were our class advisors That's r1ght Our class rmgs arrlved 1n October and we were all exclted over them Our Juruor class play was a b1g success We presented Tlger on H1s Toes ln November under the dlrectlon of Mrs Monroe On May 10 we were host to our prom, Mldnlght 1n Madrld It was the flrst all nlght prom E C H S ever had Our senlor year found our Senlor Steak Fry first on the calender of events It was sched uled for September 18 ln Bradley Park Remember how funny the freshmen looked when we 1nit1ated them on October 29 I sure do Duane Runyon was our Presldent, Iackle Miles Vlce Presldent Elleen Wagner, Secretary D1ck Whltney Treasurer and Mary Bourgoin Reporter October 31 was our Chlll Supper and Stunt Show and November l was the Homecomlng Game and Dance We certalnly enjoyed ourselves We sponsored a Christmas Dance on December 21 and the theme was 'Snowball Remember? Yes and do you remember the publlc sock hop we sponsored on january 25 wlth Tom Dunn of WPEO was our guest? That was a big success On February 4 we chose our class motto 'In Ourselves Our Future Lles' We sponsored a sock hop and coke party for the class that bought the hlghest percentage of yearbooks wh1ch was the sophomore class Remember the fun we had gettmg our senlor play 1n shape? It was entltled The Llttle Dog Laughed and we presented lt on March 21 Mr Ellsworth was our dlrector We were guest of the Juruors at thelr prom Moments to Remember on May 2 And I never w1ll forget our Baccalaureate program or our graduatlon exercises W1ll you? No I don't thlnk that I ll ever forget any of the days that we spent here at E C H S It's really been great!
