It seems so queer to address your letters to Mrs. McCullough. lVe were so sorry that you couldn't come to our first class reunion at the Elm- wood gym last week. It was the first time l had been in Elmwood for five years. Vl'e had more fun! Dr. Leland Simkins was present. He is quite successful in his surgical work in Peoria. ltlon is the President of the School of Pharmacy of Centerville. Arizona, so. of course wasn't able to come. Sanford Coon is farming near Elmwood. They say he's suing his wife for a divorce. Esther Schulthes and Thelma Scragg have been running a candy kitchen at the Y between Yates City and lilmwood. They have both decided to be staunch old maids. Florence Kauffman is teaching Stenography in R. C. H. S. and Jesse Boice is the dancing teacher. Jesse and Pauline recently bought a home on lVest Main and by the way. have you heard that Glen Delford died of a broken heart this spring? How sad! Harold Hicks is an associate justice of the Supreme Court. and Juanita De- Groot is his private secretary. lt's noised around that they are engaged. but who knows? Frances l.indzey is giving a course in Proper Make-up at Paradise Chapel this year. She says that she. like me. can't find a man to suit her. .lohn Vl'eeks is a member of the Illinois State Legislature. and his brother-in- law. Bill Proctor, is his personal advisor. Bill fell heir to a million from some distant relative in Australia. so he has no profession. lVho could blame him? Have you heard from Helen lately? She is in California. her ideal state. She is giving swimming lessons. and doubling for the tilm stars in all dangerous situa- tions. She couldn't come back for the reunion. Did l tell you that Howard Foster is John Kilpatrick's partner in the under- taking business? After a social time. Virginia Atherton. Cformerlyj gave us several violin selec- tions. She gave Fritz Kreisler lessons the first three years after graduation. and since then. she has been abroad studying music. and married a famous French musi- cian. Theeother number on our reunion program was given by Bliss Alice Redding and llrs. Marjorie Cunningham. famous toe-dancers of Yates City who danced their most unique numbers 'iDance Gracefnlw and Nymphs . They were accompanied at the piano by SapH Cunningham. BIarjorie's new husband. Then we went to the movie and saw Ladies the Bosses starring Audrey Coon. the Beauty Queen. and .luanita liohrer who takes l.ouise Fazcnda's parts most of the time. Eugene Buxton is running a dirigible between New York and London. It is a lllammoth plane and resembles a small steamer in conveniences, Armin l.ischer is a guide for the passengers. Hugh Nixon is the 'fChef'l of the plane. Have you read Gayle Phares' new novel Divoree ? ltis certainly good. l must close as l have a l.atin VI class next period.
