'ig' It was a sunny afternoon in April, 1937, when Harold Redding, editor of the Chicago Tribune, happened to glance at the Elmwood item. He looked once, gasped and looked B.g'2l.lI1. He saw several names of his old classmates of '27. He took the paper, went to his office, slouched down in his easy chair as was his fashion, and started tohread. . Lynne Fagotte, a graduate of Elmwood, refereed the Basketball game last Thursday if' night. There was a large crowd, as all of his old friends wished to see him. He is coaching at Lewistown, where he has developed an excellent team. . 1 iq All the friends of Irma Flickinger will be glad to hear that she has accepted the position of cashier at the Myres Cafe of Brimfield. Miss Mabel Dawson has just returned from Paris. Her lovely coloratura soprano voice has won her much popularity in that country. U . Q Francis Shively has been on a singing tour of the world. He came back with a little Z French wife, who calls him Baby Face. He is scheduled to sing tonight at the Palace Q Theatre, where his classmate Louise Mcliinty will play the piano for him. Louise has taken a Beauty Course and expects to find a prosperious business in Elmwood. Q Helen Buxton is running the Buxton Hatchery at Peoria. She has been very successful in her chosen work. F Julia Patton is engaged in drawing pictures for the Photoplay Magazinef' She can S sure do her stuH as will be remembered when she was in High School. Glen Hall has just received the position of Chief of Police of Douglas, Illinois. He has ii been given instructions to round up the gang of bootleggers operating in that country.
