Sophomore Class History WHAT MAKES THE wonrn oo AROUND? sornoxioursi In the year 19241, we entered Elmwood Community High School, forty-two in number. Sorry to say we were inclined to be the least bit green, but we were energetic never-the-less. Due to changes of residence and withdrawals from school, we register only thirty-six in number this year, but our capacity for achievement in scholarship and social activities has not decreased. ln school organization our class is represented by the following: Lynne Fag- gotte and 'Pete' Hall are on the basketball squad, Louise Shawver is president of the Girls' Athletic Association. As freshmen the girls, basketball team defeated the Juniors once and we organized again this year with high hopes for an all-star team. ive are also represented in both boys' and girls' glee clubs and the orchestra. lVith- out being too presuming, we do feel rather proud of this beginning of our High School career and we are ambitious to improve our records. Our social spirit has been appeased by two parties, the first a wiener roast was held at 'iDead Creekf, but it had no connection between the name of the place and the party. The second was held at the High School Auditorium and it was by all means a success, where the faculty were given the third degree. , . . and L. y27. H, S. to begin our work as industrious Juniors. Under our new teachers and the others, our class has pro- gressed splendidly, each doing l1is part. VVe are well represented in the activities of school life, leading in basketball. Our boys show their loyalty toward their school by taking all the honors in Basketball as well as helping in football and on the track. The cheer leader, too, is always prompt and puts vim into the team. He is a Junior, that is why. Our girls, too, are represented in the Girls' Basketball team and show a splendid attitude. In the High School glee clubs we are represented in big numbers. This year we are building air castles with diplomas on the top, as graduation will be our next step. Already we see great possibilities for future life, although there are stumbling blocks alzead, the Junior class will come out on top. A. H., ,za TWENTY-E'GHT

Freshman Class History The Freshmen of E. C. H. S. started out this year with a good sized class, thirty-six in number. Although we hate to say it, we all could show remarkable talent, but as We do not want to make anyone jealous, we are not showing' it so much this year. At the beginning of the year, we elected Elizabeth Steer for our class President, Susanne Smith for our class Vice-President, and Junior Mailander for class Secretary-Treasurer. We also chose as our class colors lavender and white, our class Hower the violet, and the class motto, i'Be sharp, never be Hatf' Five of our number started in the Elmwood School and to that number we have added until we have reached our present number. Sixteen were graduated from tl1e Eighth grade of this school. Although We were quite green the first few days, we soon found our places and now think E. C. H. S. is the only school in the world.
