Ellie lilmun mmm To Whom lt May Concern VVe, the Seniors of the Elmwood High School, in order to form a more perfect group, establish justice Qfrom the teachersj, insure study-hall tranquility, provide for the scholaris defence, promote the teacher's welfare, and secure the blessing of wisdom to ourselves and our underclassmen, do ordain, establish, and endeavor to enforce these amendments to the routine of our moist worthy and commendable group. Gladys DeFord shall, hereafter, instead of dreaming away her life making plans for Knox College, devote her thoughts to becoming an old maid country school teacher. Her sister Leone shall be forced to destroy all letters postmarked California, even though they be harmless, for it is not fitting for a member of the Senior Class to cherish old memories. Many devices have been attempted in prying apart the paths of Ruth Clinch and George Moore, but all have failed thus far. Loring Jarman is entailed to .separate them, if possible, by some unknown and bewitching wilcs which he possesses. He is already bringing to bear certain hoo-doo charms, which are depriving Loren Harkness of his cave--man ways. A great deal of coaxing has induced Kathryn Maher to promise to appear in public occasionally, something which she has positively refused to do heretofore. In like 111anner, after much persuasion, George Montgomery has consented to abolish his hair tonic and face powder, and instead to use axle grease and flour, this being more economical and hence more beneficial to society. Ruth Nichols has positively refused to part with her vanity case and coquettish ways, so this matter will be taken up by the Supreme Court, namely, E. C. H. S. Faculty, presided over by Chief Justice Francis, at a later date. Legal procedures may necessitate their being removed from her by force. Daniel French shall be imprisoned for life for criminal intent, if he does not succeed in proving that loaning his pencil to Helen Hart three days .successively to work cross-word puzzles, was not the direct cause of her being sent to the sanitarium at Bartonville as a re- sult of a severe mental collapse. Norma Huber has adopted a resolution not to worry here- after about her grades, the tragic experience of our unfortunate classmate Helen being fresh in her mind. It will be necessary to change the seating arrangement of the Senior class, in order to stop the flirtations of Lawrence Moran and Dorothy Nelson. If the scandal should become public, our class reputation would be ruined, and Everett liohrer has made a statement in private that for personal reasons he demands a change. This alteration will undoubtedly be effected in time. Beulah McClure has been influenced to accept the attentions of a young man southeast of Elmwood. She reports he1'self quite happy. Such induence .should be cultivated. Leon VVbitney shall be ejected from the Assembly by Miss Clark if he does not stop eating peanuts. Miss Clark says it is all right to eat peanuts in school, but it shows a high degree of ill manners to throw the shells on the floor. Mildred VViley and Neva Higgins must get more sleep from now on. They must be in by twelve 0'clock at least three nights each week, and they must not be allowed to rise before four o'clock except on Monday, Vilednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings. VVe hereby agree in declaring that Alice Shawver shall not .see Clare Baggs over seven nights a week, the remainder of her time being divided equally among those poor unfortunates whom she seldom. deigns to notice. A unanimous vote has decided that Verna Metz move into a restaurant on Maine Street, but Cornelia Day is not so fortunate. She says she does not care for a roving life, so she must wait patiently until Harry comes home. Having turned over a new leaf, Lois Henry is trying to learn to use slang, and we 1'ccommend Opal Richardson and Lois Miles to her, as her present instructor, Loren Shelton, is no better versed in slang than she. Lois made a New Year's resolution to alter her con- ventional ways, and Frances Vtlickwire, although doubtful to the outcome, has finally given up her formal speech, and joined Lois in her skimming exploratioiisji as she herself terms it. H, S. to begin our work as industrious Juniors. Under our new teachers and the others, our class has pro- gressed splendidly, each doing l1is part. VVe are well represented in the activities of school life, leading in basketball. Our boys show their loyalty toward their school by taking all the honors in Basketball as well as helping in football and on the track. The cheer leader, too, is always prompt and puts vim into the team. He is a Junior, that is why. Our girls, too, are represented in the Girls' Basketball team and show a splendid attitude. In the High School glee clubs we are represented in big numbers. This year we are building air castles with diplomas on the top, as graduation will be our next step.
