To the Students and Teachers of Elmore City High School: The history of a school year is captured in a multiplicity of ways the minutes of the meetings of the many student organizations athletic events, and the memories of students, all record portions of the historic narrative of the year's doings. Putting much of this history into compact form, into interesting and enduring form, and in a form that will retain forever the romance and wonder of school days, is the province of the BADGER, This year's BADGER, the result of many hours of hard work both mental and physical, aptly carries on the tradition of the BADGER of former years. Our reputation stands out as a challenge to each of us to live up to this recognition... recognition difficult to live up to but one which we strive in every way to merit. Elmore City High School has grown from a small country school to include the academic build ing, Home Economics Department, band room, auditorium, modern classrooms, an excellent hot lunch program, Agriculture building, football field, and gymnasium this year we have added a new bus shed Within these grounds, we work and play ever remembering that each branch of this tree of knowledge is a pathway to May this edition of the BADGER with its Silhouettes ofthe past be a re minder ofthe memories that we all Jerry Williams Editor-in-Chief

...b I I The Commercial Department of Elmore City High School under the supervision of Mrs. Ellen Dollarhide and Mrs. Bonnie Smith provides many Junior and Senior stu- dents with valuable training. Commercial subjects taught are Typing I, Typing II, Shorthand, and Bookkeeping. Some adult classes in typing and bookkeeping are also taught. The BADGER ECHO, the school paper, is published by Mrs. Smith's Typing II class. The Shop Department can well be proud of the beautiful furniture made by the boys. The department is under the supervision of Mr. Paul Sandmann. In this picture Derrel Parkey and Tony Priest display some of the furniture made this year. Derrel is a Senior and Tony is a Freshman. sw 5 .. The Home Economics Department of Elmore City is a new, fully-equipped building that is the favorite spot for many of the E. C. H. S. girls. The department is under the su- pervision of Mrs. Ethel Nale, a graduate of O. C. W. In this department the girls become skilled in cooking and sewing.
