C-T7 .5 wg ' 53: Varsity Claeerleaclers Pep. vim and vigor were the requirements for Varsity Cheerleading during '56-'58, At all Varsity competition in their thick green crewnecks and crisp white skirts, the cheerleaders were there to coordinate and improve school spirit. These seven pert cheerleaders had the distinction of being the first cheer- leaders at Elmont. Throughout their two years as members of the squad they tried, with much success, to keep their team winning and their fellow students cheering. Captain was Carol Moritz ancl Co-captain Terri Casparrini. The adviser was Nlrs. Charlotte Popellag Nlanager. To these girls the Physical Edu- cation Department offers the Girls Sports Club. The club presents more advanced skills and stresses Sportsmanship and teamwork to its mem- bers.
