'Xlrs Leahy and Mr Roberts SENIOR HISTORX Determined to start out our high school years the right way, the class of 1959 elected capable officers in Pete Palmierl, President, Tony Spallone, V1cePres1dent, Cherrle Morgan, Sec retary and Tom Wlng Treasurer Financial matters bearing down, such as an empty treasury we held one of the first pizza sales of the year Fol lowing was our first class sponsored dance after the E F A Ithaca basket ball game In all of these endeavors we were aided by Mrs Mabel Leahy and 'ylr James Flynn our social ad visors Marching on to oui Sophomore year with increlsing confidence we stopped long enough to elect Tony Spallone President Pete Palmleri Vice Presi dent Hope L1fldlCk Secretary, and Jim Plrozzolo Treasurer Again un der the capable guidance of Nlr 'Nlabel Leahy and Mr James Flynn we sponsored two successful dances Sophomore Hop and Victory Dance both of which gave added boost to our treasury ur junior Da With the expert aid and guidance of our counselors and social advisors, we have completed successfully our four years at Elmira Free Academy. Our counselors, Mrs. Mabel Leahy and Nlr. Frederick Roberts have given un- selfishly' of their time in helping us with our many problems asslsting us in our college applications and chan nellmg our plans for the future Mrs leahy and Mr James Plynn found time to act as our social advisors Un der their ULIICTHIICC and direction our class oclal life has been a most lively and successful one We the class of D9 haye been most fortunate to re reiye the attention and a1d of these hne friends and giye our most heart felt thanks to them for their kindness and understanding Alex Roberts Mike Flaherty Judy Bennett, and Chuck Michalko com bined to lead us through our Junior vear as Presldent, Vice President Sec retary, and Treasurer respectiy ely The class sponsored dances and pizza sales we had helped to fill our treasury for the big end of the year s events Our successful Junior Play, Three Blmd Zlhce was the story of three sisters Pam, MOITH, and Elizabeth play ed by Judy Rlgdon, Suzanne Ball, and Judy Secunda respectively Having so d their chicken farm, the sisters invested their money in one beautiful wardrobe husband The humorous escapades they found themselyes in, while trying to trap a man, provided an entertain ing eyening for all llomenis to Remember could not haye been more appropriate for the them of Junior Day and the Prom Highlighting the day s events were Mr Charles Millers talk and the presen tatlon of the Elmira College Key to Nancy Anselment Our all important Senior Year loom mg before us we chose Mike Flaherty 99 Mr Flynn and Mrs Leahy lresident, Bill Amacher, Nice Presi dent, XCFOHICH Herko, Secretary , and Dan Burke Treasurer Working to the end of the year festivities we sponsored a bake sale two dances and presented our play lou, Cant Take It With lou, starring Bob Tyrell The story of the play revolved about the Sycamore family and the gay, carefree life they led It was a great success filling the audltorlum as well as the treasury Hard work that lt was, most eyeryone who worked to make it suc cessful agreed nothing could haye been more fun Culmmatmg the year s ac They conyenlently came on 'llemorlal Day weekend to giye us seyeral days of good tlme and fond memorie It 1 hard to realize that it was almost four years ago that we entered Llmlra Free Academy with mixed feeling fear timidlty and uncer tainty We leaye thi chool our home for four year with equally mixed feelings sadness and apprehension sadness for the fun and good time we leaye behind and apprehension for the things that are ahead of lls be they good or bad V' s nn sw'A 1 O 1 I P S Q 1 su T 1 F7 A l I ' .'.'
