Seam 61444 Jaiwf VVith the greenness of all freshmen, we meekly entered the halls of this school for the first on a sunny September morning, in 1941. Our first accomplishment as a class was to elect our officers: Franklin Lockwood, president, Virginia Reynolds, vice-president, Mary Ellen Maxcy, secretary, Thomas Keeton, treas- urer. The following year as sophomores, we elected -Iames Digby, Charlotte Jarvis, Virginia Benedict and Robert Landon to the ofbces of president, vice-president. secretary and treasurer, respectively. Increased interest and action in school activities, marked this, our second year in Elmira Free Academy. In the fall of 1943 we attained our primary goal, that of becoming upper- classmenf' Happily we elected james Digby, Virginia Benedict, Gwen Evans and Robert Morris to guide us through our junior year. With great pride we displayed our red and white colors on -Iunior Day. That evening we had our junior Dance with Edward Sutter and Marjorie Nimtz as co-chairmen. After three years of struggling, we were finally promoted to the exalted state of being seniors. VVith the ease of veterans we carried out the routine of electing officers. To guide us through the year we chose Robert Morris, Ann Riddle. Patricia Hanechack, and Paul Sullivan, This was easily the best of our four years. At the Student Council Carnival, to the evident enjoyment of all, Richard Mace and Patricia McConnell reigned as King and Queen. We continued our successful year with a dance in March. This was followed by the skating party and the presentation of an almost-professional Senior Musical. Ann Biddle and Edward Sutter were the stars of Best Foot Forward, our popular Senior Play. The supporting cast gave performances that deserved the phrase VVell-done! The most memorable occasion of the year, however, was Senior Day which included: assembly, year books, autographing, followed by the Senior Banquet and Prom. In a few weeks from now, this school and all the incidents that took place here will be pleasant memories. As we leave, we will take with us a fond remem- brance of four happy years in 'fdear E. F.
