I I x JACK McLEOD ELIZABETH HOWLAND Prgnidgnl Vice-President MAIUORIE KIEFFER RICHARD FORBES Secret ary Treasurer Dear Classmates, As President of the class of 1929, I have been asked to write a short message in its behalf. With Commencement drawing near, I am sure that your feelings as well as mine are those of mixed joy and regret. This is said, not in any sentimental way hut with all sincerety. Some of us are looking forward to College, others to busi- ness, but all of us are looking forward happily because each course holds forth promise, growth, development, in short a fuller life. No matter where our ambit- ions lead us, I feel safe in saying all of us are filled with sorrow at the thought of leaving the Academy, our Alma Mater. Well may we call it our Alma Mater, for has it not mothered us for four years? Yes. to it, we, as a class have incurred a debt which we can never hope to repay. In the democratic walls of Elmira Free Academy we have been afforded great. op- portunity to excel in scholarship, athletics, and many extra curriculum activities. Equal rights and participation has been the policy of our school, rewards have been made in accordance with the merits of the individual. We have greatly enjoyed this and furthermore have contracted many lasting and inestimable friendships. In closing then, it is my hope that, we, as a class will be ever loyal to our Alma Mater, its principal and its teachers, and that we may direct our lives so as to cast honor and glory upon old E.F.A. With every good wish for the future, I am - Sincerely yours, JACK MCLEOD. . 11
