,. 5-' v Let S Win This War! 'A In the Past yOu have undoubtedly heard Ivu in il: these strong, well-known words save, share, Etg ln and ration. Vilell, 1ny friend, these words not only apply to you but to every loyal American who wants to defeat the Axis. '- This is no longer a time of that leisure which We are so used to having. Today we have a job to do. As you know, there is a shortage of rubber, gasoline, tires, automobiles, and sugar. Our first duty isn't to see how much we can hoard but how much we can conserve. The fighting forces of America need these materials more than we do. They are the ones who are giving up their lives that we may live in peace. The least we can do is to give them the materials with which to work. These materials which our government is asking us to conserve are the nation's lifeline. They can't operate tanks and trucks without gasoline and tires. They canlt build trucks and tanks if everyone is going to buy a new pleasure car and the army must eat, if it isnexpected to do its best. Regardless of these facts, many people are busy getting in that large stock of supplies. If you should ask them if they were hoarding, they would probably say, 'lWl1y, I'm just getting in a stock of supplies before the prices go up? Vlfhether they know it or not, they are the ones who cause the prices to rise and they are the ones who spell defeat I might make one exception in regard to hoarding of vital materials. You may buy as many Defense Bonds as you like. So let's get together and win this war by everyonels doing his part!
