U lunior Class Our Hrst official act as upper classmen was one befitting our dignity as such - the election of our officers. Claire McCarthy was chosen class presi- dentg James Flynn, vice-presidentg Jeanette Manocchio, treasurer and VVil- liam Thomas, secretary. The student body witnessed, on April 1, a Junior triumph in the form of a panel discussion on Inter-American relations. April 29 marked the ap- pearance of the Junior issue of The Clarion ftofficial school periodicall, which was about the best yetv - as someone aptly put it. Along the line of money-producing enterprises, the Class of 1943 has been singularly successful. The annual carnival was presented on April 22 in the scout rooms, featuring booths for games, refreshments and novelties. A coat-hanger campaign, during which we sold about 700 of these discarded, despised articles to a dry-cleaner, supplemented the carnival proceeds to provide a Junior-Senior banquet tit for a king. And, so, at the end of a highly successful year, we fondly anticipate taking over the senior homeroom next fall. U A Seniors Lament In knowledge and in years, They 're behind us just a stepg But it Won't be very long, For they're oh-so full of pep! Yes, the Junior Class is fine, Of complaints you'll find no traceg But we'll regret it, all the same, VVhen they come to take our place. --Jean Reidy '42 Page Twenty-Se-ven T h c 1 9 4 2 E C H 0
