. if W Qrfmgwi wasn't much doing during our first term, but ou1 second term started off with a bang On February 7 we held a very successful Junior Carnival. Lent and Easter came late this year so we had little time to hold another activity. However, immediate plans were drafted for the Junior Day assem- bly and the the Junior-Senior banquet at the Mark Twain Hotel. These two events could be classed under the very successful and Hvery enjoyablen columns. It seems that we got quite a crush on Enfield Glen after our Soph class picnic, for what do we do but go there again for our Junior class picnic, too. This brought to a. climax our third year as HE. C. H. 'ers. Tramp, tramp, tramp the - - XVhat? Again? Looks that way, donit see where any alumni have donated an elevator. This year was destined to be one full of surprises. Not that our selection of James Sullivan as president to steer our sma.ll Ship of State aided by Madlyn Mclnerney, vice-president, Edward Gill, secretary, and Jean Reidy, treas- urer, was a surprise, but we introduced the Camera Club, the Debating Society, and put new life into the Mission Society and took active part therein. The Senior Carnival was held on the night before Thanksgiving. Vile had a large attendance and a good profit was realized. lNe also lost a good friend this year in Sister Bernardine but gained another in that of Sister Vincentine. The Senior motto, Assemblies Galore reigned uppermost because we have conducted every assembly held thus far this year. So, as the scent of fresh, warm, summer air fills our lungs, clouded with thoughts of final examinations and graduation, we prepare to say good-bye to E. C. H. Qui: iiort an imple Anna s Two score and six months ago, we of the class of '42 ascended to the top floor of the school for the first time. It didn't take long to get acquainted because we were a friendly group. NVe knew very little aboult elections, but our choice of class officers for our first high school year was very good. NVe chose Robert Burns, president, Veronica Roland, vice-presidentg Betty Cloke, secretary, Douglas Mitchell, treasurer. Incidentally, although Father Burns had been teaching in tl1e school since 1936, this was his first year as principal. As for activities, well-l-l maybe we were too busy with our school work to plan any. Our first year drew to a. close when plans for a class picnic at Rorick's Glen in June were made and successfully carried out. Our Sophomore year was energetically launched with two new class- mates, Jane Burke and Frank Bonsignore. For class officers we selected for president, James McGann, vice-president, Jane Burke 5 secretary, Frank Ma- loneyg treasurer, Jean Reidy. The Sophomore Stardust Dance and St. Pati-ick's Day assembly were both successful events. lVe Httingly ended our second lap with an unforgettable class picnic at Enfield Glen. Tramp, tramp, tramp the boys -Hand girlsi are climbing l VVe'1'e be- ginning to get used to those two flights now - - this being our third attempt. Frank Maloney, Madlyn Mclnerney, Edward Gill, and Jane Burke, were selected president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer respectively fNotice we got around to it la little quicker this timej. This year we lost the pleasant companionship of' Sister Carmella but won another friend in Sister Joachim. James Sullivan was also a new addition to the class from the E. F. A.
