Firmina Sweeney Faculty Adviser Sister Nlary Stephen The French Club was organized bv the members of the French Three Class in October of 1937. lts meetings were helcl on several Friclavs during French Class. Throughout the year, many programs were given, consisting of stories, Poems, anecclotes. and jokes. Une of the most interesting was the Play Ulscs Trois Qursm or The Three Bears, given near the encl of the Hrst semester. Another high point in the years prograni was the Quick Quiz which was given cluring the secontl semester. lt was concluctecl by Williriiii Reed and was given entirely in French. Although this club is 1lOt quite a year olcl, it has clone much to help the members obtain knowledge of l7rance anrl French culture through its activities. Nlanv of the members are corresponding with stutlents in France. The club is planning to bring its year to a close with an assembly to be heltl in hflay for the benefit of the whole student borlv. lt will consist of songs and recitations in French, anal will be climaxetl bv a short play which will also be presented in the French language. ol 57 lo

Eleanor THE SODALITY For the eighth successful vear the Sodalitv has continued its praiseworthv activities in the Elmira Catholic High School. This vear it was decided to have membership include 1 f 1 the whole school. Officers from the Senior C.ass were elected. and two delegates rom e.1c.i class were chosen. Thus the officers and the delegates plan activities, and the whole school joins in to make these a success. The ohject of the Sodalitv in past semesters has been to ransom Pagan hahies. To ohtain money for this worthy cause, the Sodalitv held varied activities throughout the vear. These were all so successful that enough rnonev was received to ransoiii a pagan hahv and to provide for the childs welfare during the past months. Under the careful guidance of Sister Eleanor, and aided hv the ambitious worlc of the entire school for the Sodality, we feel sure that this organization will in the future continue to be as successful as it has lveen in the pas I. ol SQ Io
