They wish to extencl their heartiest thanks to the rnerchants of Elmira, through whose generosity the hook was made possible, to their un- selhsh adviser, to the editor-in-chief, William Reed, an inspiring leader, to the secretaries of the classes for their brilliant class histories, and to those who have helped in any way to make the book a success.
