Doell has seT up TesTs ThaT The band members musT pass beTore They receive Their uniTorms. l-le has arranged a new poinT sysTem Tor earning leTTers. Under his leadership, The band membership has increased Trom TwenTy-Tour To TorTy members. l-lis exTensive program oT music appreciaTion and OT song TluTe playing in The Three grade schools has led To more inTeresT in band. By The Time These pupils reach The TiTTh grade, They are ready Tor Training on an insTrumenT ThaT is well suiTed To Them. These grade school band members Torm The nucleus Trom which The high school band laTer draws iTs members. ln addiTion To Mr. Doell, The Troian Band has oTher leaders. Bob Roehm, a senior, is our presidenT. Dick Fields, a senior, is his sTand-in. Carol Wilson, a iunior, is our secreTary-Treasurer. Who's The guy in The high haT? Qur hours OT marching drill were re- warded by our parTicipaTion in The largesT parade in The hisTory OT ForT Wayne-The ArmisTice Day Parade, November II. Yes, sir, we were righT in There marching and playing. Qur red and gray uniTorms added color To The drizzly Sunday. Baskerball puT us inTo The public eye more Than ever. Accompanying The yell leaders, playing The pep songs, playing novelTy numbers, and exhibiTing The grace and skill oT our Twirlers and Tlag bearers helped To Tocus aTTenTion on our band and school. We WanT A BaskeT and When We lVleeT Them, We Will GreeT Them made everyone rhyThm conscious and baskeT happy all season long. When conTesT Time comes, in The spring, Mr. Doell and The band hope To make solo and ensemble enTries. This will be The TirsT Time in Three years ThaT The band as a uniT has enTered These conTesTs.
