'.--' ...-- Q 2 lllflf 9 RIFLE CLUB The Rifle Club was organized by Mr. Haller during the opening year at Elmhurst. Clifton Loring was appointed presi- dent and Yvonne Pond, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. Those who were active members were: Georgie Homsher, Martha Homsher, Phyllis Reed, Evelyn Storm, Mary Wilson, Lucille llletcalf, Beth Rousseau, Vera HoHman, Lou Auman, Dorothy Auman, Yvonne Pond, Clifton Loring, Ted Davis, Jim Wolf, Roy Oyer, VVayne Pribble, Charles lNIcCormick, Glen Sievers, Dave Welcli, Billy Hargrave, and Hugh Wilson. The girls challenged the boys to a match with the understanding that the losers give a Weiner bake. The girls lost by a fraction of a point so they gave the Weiner bake at the residence of Beth Rousseau. At the beginning of the second year the club activities were renewed. Clif Loring was elected president, Ted Davis, vice- presidentg and Beth Rousseau, secretary and treasurer. A num- ber of matches were held. One meet was lost to Arcola and two were dropped to South Side. The girls had two matches with Arcola Winning both of them. The girls have shown that their ability to shoot was superior to that of the boys much to the sor- row of Jim Wolf. Lucille Metcalf was the first member of the club to shoot a possible. Ted Davis has to take Lucille for an airplane ride to fulfill his promise. It looks very much as if the boys are going to give the weiner bake this year, unless they shoot a few possibles. Those that are on the team are Lou Auman, Evelyn Storm, Lucille Metcalf, Roy Oyer, Hugh VVil- son and Cliff Loring. In the county rifle meet held at the Armory, lllarch 25, Elm- hurst placed third, making a higher score than either North Side or Central. South Side and Arcola took first and second places respectively although the Elmhurst team was by no means out- classed as was shown by the close score. 4 I- L v .llglklgr - TK I '- ,g,5'v7', F, H-1 ' 5 , 5 or Q ' . -..........,.'slF1jiE-ii'7J, --.--.....-.....-.N- .
