I i ' F RIKI-2, 9 X L ALUMNI NEWS The Elmhurst Alumni, graduates of 1932, were the first to pass from these halls of learning. The baccalaureate was held May 15, in the school gymnasium. Rev. Williaiii E. Clark delivered the address. The commencement was held May 20, and Dr. J. Raymond Schutz of Manchester College addressed the graduates. The valedictorian of the class was Helen Eversole, and the salutatorian was Dorothea Auman. Other members of the class Were: Dulla Aschliman, Fern Beaman, Margaret Beerman, Marcus Blair, Virginia Brittenham, Brace Carsten, Franklin Cotton, Millie De Villers, Lynn Eickhoff, Russell Fairfield, Glen Felmlee, Edward Gillie, Donald Gillie, Ahleen Goshorn, Georgia Homsher, Martha Homsher, Clifford Jackson, Evelyn Parkison, H. Elroy Pond, Yvonne Pond, Evelyn Pribble, VVayne Pribble, Elnora Osterman, Esther Robertson, Damon Sheffer and Adolph Schilling. The class officers were: Presi- dent, Lynn Eickhoff 3 vice-president, George HO1HSllS1', secretary- treasurer, Clifford Jackson. A prominent member of the class of '32 was Fern Beaman, who was awarded a bust of Jefferson in a Morris Plan Essay Contest. Virginia Brittenham had the honor of being the first editor of the Elmhurst Advance. On the night of February 16, 1932, the seniors presented the play, Cyclone Sally. Ahleen Goshorn and Marcus Blair played the leading roles. Another activity in which the seniors alone participated was Kid Day on May 2. On this day all seniors appeared dressed as kids, The facility gave the seniors a farewell breakfast on May 19, at Foster Park.
