W Mm THE STAR-SPANGL ED GIRL Love and ideology got mixed, but not blended, in The Star-Spangled Girl, the comedy presented by the Elmhurst College Department of Speech and Dramatic Arts at the Mill Theatre on the 1 7th of October through the 1 9th. Jeanne Chionis (Sophie) played the girl with the pro- American sentiments, Paul Anderson and Steven Lutz (An- dy and Norman) as the impecunious young heretics who learned from her that love must be reckoned with while pursuing their social criticism. The comedy with its up-to- the-minute reflection of youthful protest was directed by Charles Berglund and the scenery representing the site of the confrontation of polarized viewpoints - the combination home of the Bohmeian young men and their editorial of- fices - was designed by Charles Schmidt. 18
