From my vantage point I am privileged to see Elmhurst men and women out there . . . doing the world ' s work, and others on the campus preparing for their future use- fulness. They have much in common and through the years they develop similar Characteristics. Nearly all bear something of the Elmhurst stamp, an important quality of which is integrity. It is fascinating to watch this process of growth on the campus. Our students, exposed to wholesome influences, led by devoted teachers, surrounded by many noble-minded youths, inspired by tradition and idealism . . . become useful citizens, a credit to the school and an asset to the nation. Since many of our friends cannot observe this process we hope that these pages will reveal some of it. It is the story of a contagion, caught and spread, a contagion of mutuality and good will. May God prosper it. H. W. DINKMEYER 9
