CL SS HISTORY The freshman class of '59 came into the high school full of vim and vigor. We started off to a good year with initiation day and party which created a lot of laughs . We proclaimed the honor of the biggest class in the high school numbering twenty-two. The new- comers were Frances Hutton, Fred Hall and Bill Hall. We fumbled our way through classes the first week forgetting locker numbers and teachers . We are proud to say Diane Builta and Linda Smith- son made the cheerleading squad along with several boys who made varisity letters in baseball and basketball. Gur class officers were President, Steve Killiang Vice-President, Carolyn Davis: Secretary, Linda Crutcherg Treasurer, Dave Gilmore and Student Council Representatives, Bob Lauritson and Don O'Neal. Our first activity was a hay rack ride and wiener roast followed up by a Christmas Dance. We then lost Fred and Bill Hall along with Ellen Bowman to Bloomington. Frances Hutton left in the spring for nurses' aid work in St. joseph Hospital. A newcomer Mary Elliot, a transfer from Bloomington joined us the second semester. The year 1958-59 was a wonderful year for us. 22
