CLASS I-IISTORY In the spring of our eighth grade we elected officers for our fresh- 'man year as follows: David Young, president: Barbara Newberry, vice-president: Nancy Keene, secretary-treasurer: and Bea Heggerty and David Young: student council representatives . In the fall of 1955, nineteen students came into Ellsworth High as excited but green freshmen. We gained two new students-- Carol Cowan and Berle Evans but, later lost Berle Evans . As sophomores we elected Dick Young, president: Glenn Stille, vice-president: Alice Carlson, secretary: Margie Parker, treasurer: and David and Dick Young, student council representatives . We also lost three of our classmates, Pat Whalen, Carol Cowan, and Byron Woodrum. We gained five new members later on--Janet Brent, Maxine Emberton, Loren Carter, Larry Welch, and Verlona Boitnott. We initiated the freshmen as our first activity. Three classmates Barbara Newberry, Bea Heggerty, and Nancy Keene, were elected cheerleaders . For our junior year we elected David Young as president: Bar- bara Newberry, vice-president: Nancy Keene, secretary: jeff Adams, treasurer: and Dick Young, student council representatives . We lost four of our classmates: Bobbie Newberry, Bea Heggerty, Jill Miller, and Verlona Boitnott. We received our class rings early in the year. Cheerleaders out of our class were Barbara Newberry and Nancy Keene. We were proud to have Nancy Keene and Glenn Stille as Queen and King of the Sweetheart Ball. The Able Miss Cain our class play, was given in December. When we came back for our last year we elected the following officers: Barbara Newberry, president: Nancy Keene, vice-president: Jerry Marie Williams, secretary-treasurer. Student council repre- sentatives were Barbara Newberry, janet Brent, and Nancy Keene. Awards given out went to the following persons: Alice Carlson, Betty Crocker Award: jack Wall, S.A.R. and Nancy Keene, D.A.R. We lost Helen Woodford and Maxine Emberton as our classmates . Nancy Keene was chosen as cheerleader. Dick Young was King of the Sweetheart Ball. Our play, Finders Creepers, was given in May.

CLASS WILL We, the beloved Senior Class of '59 of Ellsworth High School, being of intelligent minds and memories of elephants, do hereby make, publish and authorize this as our last will and testament. To the School we will fifty remote controlled robots and hope that they are able to cause at least half as much commotion as we did during our four years . To the Junior Class we will half of our intelligence so that there will be that much remaining for the school after we are gone. To the Sophomore Class we will one of our many organizers and hope they have more workers than we did. To the Freshman Class we will our ability to outgrow our green- ness and act like high school students . I, Janet Brent, will my ability to go steady to Betty Riebe and hope she can go steady two years without breaking up. I, Barbara Newberry, will my ability to get a diamond ring in my senior year to Karen Wissmiller. I, Margie Parker, will by ability not to be a bridesmaid more than two times to Margie Coale and also to always stop when it says stop. I, Linda McWhorter, will my freckles to Betty Riebe. I, Alice Carlson, will my ability to know all about sports to Judy Brown. I, Nancy Keene, will my ability to go to drive-in restaurants without running through glass windows to Don Builta. I, Jerry Marie Williams, will my ability to get good grades in Physics to Rick Roberts . I, Dick Young, will my ability not to get kicked out of any classes during my senior year to Ron Lauritson. I, Dave Young, will my ability to ride donkeys to Judy Brown and to Ron Lauritson. I will my ability to stay out of trouble. I, Glenn Stille, will my loud pipes to Don Builta and hope that he doesn't get picked up. I, George Scott, will my safe driving to Karen Wissmiller. I, Jack Wall, will my ability to get along with girls to Rick Roberts . I, Loren Carter, will my bubbling personality to Betty Riebe. I, James Knight, will my false teeth to Ron Lauritson and Don Builta. I, Jeff Adams, will my black around the school to Ron Lauritson and to Don Builta my ability not to run into trains. 14
