Prophecy Recently I received a letter from my old classmate, Eleanor Bane, inviting me to a television show in New York City. Eleanor had just returned from Europe, where she had been starring in some operas. I was on vacation, so I decided to see the show. As I was boarding the plane to New York, I was surprised to see that the pretty stewardess was Shirley Thomas. After we were in the air, Shirley asked me if I would like to meet the pilot. I said I would, so we went up front. I was glad to see that I was in such good hands, for the pilot was David O'Neall and the co-pilot was Donald Crutcher. After we had landed in New York, I called a taxi to take me to my hotel which was owned by Kenneth Herman. When I was registered and was given my key, I discovered that the bellboy was Raymond Killian. I shopped the next day for an outfit to wear to the television show. On the front of the shop was a sign which read, Marla Gaines' Dress Shoppe, so I went in and bought my outfit. That evening when I arrived at the theater, the usher, who was Donald Coale, sat me as close to the front as he could. It wasn't long before the show started . When I saw that the emcee was Dean Sturgeon, I just couldn't believe it. He introduced such acts as Warren Bates and his Bongos. Since Elvis has gone to the Army, Warren has the teenagers rolling in the aisles. Next was Betty Davis with her trained chimps . Her husband, Larry Lucas, assisted her. Harvey Brent then sang a song dedicated to me. I was thrilled. After the show, a party was held in honor of the 1958 Ellsworth High graduates. I left the party in gay spirits and hailed a taxi. The driver was Carroll Newberry, who told me the president of the taxi corporation was Dale Walden. I had only a few days of my vacation left, so I thought I would go home and get some rest before going back to my job. ' ag. 18

LIBSS WIII We, the Senior Class of 1958, being of sound mind and forgetful memory hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our first and last Will and Testament. To Ellsworth High School, we, the Senior Class, will a larger candy machine to prevent the line-up between classes . To the Junior Class, we will a special pop cooler so they won't have to use the snow, as we did. To the Sophomore Class, we will our technique of getting at the right place at the right time--especially on tours . To the Freshman Class, we will our ability to set a good example as blameless students. Our record has been spotless. I, Larry Lucas, will my ability to get along with Junior boys to Jerry Williams. I, Shirley Thomas, will my nickname, Sam, to Maxine Emberton so she may carry on my name for being so well behaved. I, Kenny Herman, will my good looks to Janet Brent. I, Raymond Killian, will my ability to skip classes to jeff Adams. I, Don Crutcher, will my train whistle to Jim Knight. I, Marla Gaines, will my flats to Helen Woodford so her feet won't get so tired. I, Warren Bates, will all my black strips I have around Ellsworth to Dick Young. I, Don Coale, will my ability to get along with Mr. Somers to Glenn Stille. I, Harvey Brent, will my ability to stay out of trouble to Loren Carter. I, Betty Davis, will my shyness to Margie Parker. I, Carroll Newberry, will my ability to be a good kid to Alice Carlson. I, Dale Walden, will my ability to stutter to Nancy Keene. I, Eleanor Bane, will my safe driving in the 50 Special to Barbara Newberry and hope she will be a better driver than I am. Signed, sealed, published, and declared as their last Will and Testament by the Class of 1958. 17
