Her name was ME s Audrey R. Barnes, ani she had just graduated from the State Teachers College at Clarion, Pennsylvania. Although it is her first year' she can keep that library quiet, so next year wlen you go into the library he ready to be greeted by that smile of hers. During October and November the Library Club c.me into being, and the first thing we did was to elect officers. The members are: Naomi Lilley, Mildred Kmulak, Dorothy Koslashy, Margaret Guzick, Genevieve DeSimone and Angeline Cicci Our semi-monthly meetings began very soon and we decided that our dues waild be 104 a meeting. Our first meetings were spent learning the routine work of how to manage the library. We learned to stamp books, how to take care of fines, over due notices, magazines, and how to shelve and slip books. We were also taught how to use the encyclopedias efficiently and to use UReader's eviden when we needed magazine materials. This proved very helnful to us in our own work as well as helping other students, which was onz of our duties. At this time we d.so learned what a great many things had to be done to a new book before it can go out, ani we hearned the correct procedure for doing so. December proved to be a particularly nice month. For one of our meetings we hada party and decorated the library for Christmas with a tree, a Santa Ch use, and all the trimmings, We then had our feast and Miss Watson and Miss Barnes certainly showed that teachers can be a lot of fun. The rest of the sdiool year we put into practice what we had learned time taxing the library of the club ph nned for to end what V27 E, S in the first inventory of in order for the year one has Library Club. few months.
