There isn't another 1 quarterback who can block nearly half as well as Willie. He 1 uses his head in calling plays, quickly diagnosing the defen- 1 sive position of the opponents. 1 1 The failure to get two yards in four downs was really a 1 blow to Willie on September 18, lW42. This was Alex's first year out for football 4 and he really starred at his end position. I 4 Alex starred the season as substitute but finally showed i Coacl Wingrove he had the stuff to perform like a veteran. 4 Alex acquired the nickname of HBone Crushern because of some of? his exploits on the football field. Alex scored two very 4 important touchdowns in the Centerville and Alumni games, Q 1 In basketball Alex played guard very well.
