Z 1 me The Ellsworth Football team, lcd by captain James Gauriloff and four other lettormen, enjoyed a fair season despite the shortage of equipment and the great MUMDGP of inwuries. Coach Holland did a good job of coaching are taught the meaning of true sportsmanship. The first tact for the bca: was against the alumni. The local gridders invaded California only to be turned back 26-2. The home boys threatened several times but to no avail. The Cokers lost their first home encounter to Jefferson High 25-0. The outstanding feature of the game was the smooth playing of the victors. With the running attack functioning smoothly the Ellsworth team enjoyed their first victory of the season by smashing a 19-O victory over West Bethlehem. Overpowered in every way the homers lost to the East Beth eleven by a score of 25-O. With a spirit not to be denied the home team outpassed and outran the Belle Vernons only to hon r a O-O tie. In the main event of the year, the Bentleyvile Bears beat the Ellsworth Cokers 34-O despite the power shown by the latter. The statistics sheet shows that the encounter was more evenly contested than the score indicates. Displaying the best form, the home boys played smart, hard football throughout the next game, only to be beaten 19-O by East Pike Run. In the final game of the season, Centerville took full advantage of their superior weight and power for they overpowered our gridders to a 46-6 setback. COACH.... Mr. Holland CAPTAIN..
