FOREWORD The time . . . June 13, 1950. The place . . . the Third Presbyterian Church, where we, the graduating class of 1950 are about to march down the aisle to receive our diplomas. We are feeling a little bit sad, a little bit nervous, and more than a little bit proud. VVe are proud of ourselves for having successfully completed our high school years. VVe are proud of our classmates, girls with whom we have worked and played and formed friendships which will last for many years to come. VVe are proud, too, of our school, and all we are leaving behind us. We a1'c feeling grateful for the opportunities, great and small, offered to us such as the understanding advice and willing cooperation of the faculty in all our undertakingsg the pe1'sonal interest shown to us as individualsg and the various activities which have enlarged our horizons. Perhaps the most important of all has bee11 the broad academic background we have received which is so vital to our success in college work. These advantages and many others have furnished us with a deep sense of security and assurance in what lies before us. We are, there- fore, not timid in facing the future, rather, we are excitedly anticipating it, confident in our preparation. VVe shall always reinember Ellis with affection and appreciationg and, though we are sad at leaving, we are not regretting a chance to prove ourselves worthy of being called Ellis graduates. VVe hear the strains of uPomp and Circumstancef' VVe are marching forward.
