Common feelings shared during graduation exercise Drawn together by a common bond, 55 students gath- ered on May 15 in the high school gymnasium to participate in graduation exercises. These seniors shared common feel- ings of excitement, anxiety, and fear of the future and of leaving friends. Deanna Wilson captured the feelings of most in the opening of her valedictorian address: “Friendships are here today - gone tomorrow. Remember laughing together. Remember crying together. We’ll take these memroies with us wherever we go.” Principal Don Caffee shared a letter written by a mother and a reply written by a principal. The letters brought out that not only does a student benefit and grow from his teachers’ influences, the teachers are enriched by the pres- ence of the students. Salutatorian Tim Vogt and Guest Speaker Rev. Goetzke addressed the crowd with a common message about goals and success. Other events of the evening included performances by the Concert Choir, who sang “I Sing the Body Electric,” and the Mystic Blues, who sang “Forever.” GOOD LUCK! Patty Peintner shakes hands with board member JoAnn Kincaid who wishes her luck for the future. (Staff photo) GRADUATION PRACTICE.
