Part of the cast for East Lynne Karolyn Ames, Linda she r, Richard Wolfe Steve Kimple and Art Traugott YYlelodnama Pneiented Awand Made i ‘Jhe pia East Lynne, this year's Junior - Senior play, was presented in the auditorium on October 8 and 10. The comedy melodrama was complete with rinky-tink piano and olios between the acts. The cast: Joanita Triplett, Karolyn Ames, Judy Lebbin, Arthur Traugott, JoAnn Peter, Larry Wills, Evelyn Heckele, Bill Hallmark, Anice Hall- ford, Dick Wolfe, Linda Fisher, Steve Kimple and Lila Fildes. The pianist was Linda Hayes and Doug Schneider was assistant director. The annual awards called Ellies were given at the Shespian banquet on May 12. Best actress and actor were Lila Fildes and Duane Wilcox. Ann Holmgren and Larry Wills were honored for their supporting roles. These awards were for three-act plays Best actress and actor for the one- act plays were Judy Lebbin and Dennis Casey. Awards for supporting roles went to Linda Hayes and Art Traugott. Carmen Graff was selected best assis- tant director and Karolyn Ames was best crew member.

The most memorable day of the year was freshman initiation. This was the day the seniors ordered the class of 6l to sound off the familiar yell, Yea, Ellinwood, beat Clay Center --the day in which the fresh- men drank all obtainable liquid and ate anything eatable between the choruses of the senior chant--the day in which the freshmen wore pinafores and little boy's knickerbockers gaily colored with lipstick and scented with the aroma of ammoniated perfume. The cast for the play Com- ing Around the Mountain in- cluded Connie Warren as Daisy, Wally Jenisch as Zeke, Linda Hayes as Dynamite Ann, JoAnn Peter as Hortense, Imogene Meadows as Maw, Sandy Robinson as Millicent, Larry Manning as Carey and Tom Schroeder as Pop. Lois Wille was assistant director. The play Auto-de-Fe con- tained a cast of only two, a mother played by Joanita Triplett and her son, played by Duane Wilcox. Linda Fisher was assistant director. The third play, Man in the Bowler Hat, had in the cast Jim Roth as John, Nada Whet- stone as Mary, Bill Hallmark as Hero, Sandra Stacey as Heroine, Art Traugott as Chief Villian, Larry Wills a?
