r THE ORACLE SPEAKS The other day when I opened my mail box, I received quite a surprise. There was a letter from Miss Ferguson, who was my class advisor when I graduated from high school. I rushed into the house to read it. As I started reading the letter I was astonishedg for Miss Ferguson, who has a very practical mind, had been wondering about the class of '52 and decided to find out what each one was doing. She had taken a trip to Greece and visited Delphi, a city built on the slopes of Parnassus in Phocis. At this place had been a temple dedicated to Apollo. A priestess by the name of Pythia was appointed to inhale the hallowed air which made the priestess give forth divine inspirationsg and her inspired words were interpreted by priests. This was just the place where Miss Ferguson thought she could get her informa- tion about what each one was doing. After paying her fee, she was asked to sit down and in a puff of smoke and a peal of thunder the priestess' prophecy began. It seemed that Henry Myers was a big shot in more ways than one. He was signing his contract with the Baltimore Bullets to play basketball professionally for them. Harry Lee Mitchell was raising dust rounding third base for his 5th home run in one day for the New York Yankees. In the political field Tommy jasper was campaigning for the Republican Presidential nomination. At his side was Pat Shea, his trusted secretary, working like a demon to keep all his speeches straight. On the other side of the political fence, the Democratic League of Women Voters was welcoming Eleanor Moxley into their club. The domestic side of the future was shown by Barbara Radcliffe, Mary jo justice, and Frances Atkins. Besides running homes efficiently these three had branched out. Barbara was managing the You Name It, I Got It Department Store with Leroy Laupert as head of the Toy Department. Mary jo was running the Feedum and Sleep- um Nursery where Juanita Tignor was acting as baby sitter for the male babies over sixteen. Frances Atkins was Guidance Counselor for the Howard County Senior High School to which Robert Strassner had just finished adding an auditorium. Charles Miller represented the military side of life. He was a sergeant in the U. S. Army and was sure making life miserable for Privates Selby and Hare. p A flash of light, a very odd vapor arose showing Miss Ferguson another scene. Paul Feaga was rolling down the road in a truck with this on it Howard and Frederick County Cattle Dealer and in the truck was Russell Poole's finest pure-bred cattle. According to the Oracle some future buildings will be the Dash-Away-Dasher Roller Rink owned by Marian Dasher and the ''Speed-Along-Speed-Away'' owned by Jimmy jestes and Kenny Sheets. In the entertainment world was joan Nicolai, first violinist for the Baltimore Sym- phony. Natalie Lassotovitch, our own operatic star, was making her debut at Charles Ecker's famous Ellicott City Opera House. Then the Olympic Mountain seemed to take on a pink glow, according to Miss Fer- guson's letter, and Patsy james was doing her famous Piccadilly Ballet. Rebecca Feaga was surrounded by service men. Miss Ferguson said that she was speech- less until the priest informed her that Becky was one of Fort Meade's favorite secret- aries. g
