Class Our summer vacation of '47 was drawing to a close. Once more we faced the problems that school days can bring. Our first acquaintance was another year of Core, which brought many dark clouds, but thank God, with every cloud, sunshine always follows. With the help of our class adviser and class officers, we were well able to turn out many successful activities. Our officers for this year were: Preszdenz .......,........,.....,.., ........ F red Derrick Vice-President .... ..........,,. P eggy Mellin Secretary .......... ....... M ary Thompson Trmsurcr ......,.. ........ F rankie Curtis Adviser ............,.,...........,.,............. Laura Glover As the seasons change, so it was with our Sophomore year. We came back to school a little taller, heavier, and full of mischief. We also felt a little more grown up because this year we could choose a few of our own subjects. Our main objection was, it still was school. During this year, we had many more privileges. The main feature of the year was the banquet for the class of '49, which proved to be very successful. Another thing brought to our developing minds this year was that we couldn't do without money. This opened up some money-making activities. Again, with the help of our class ofiicers and adviser, we came out flying our flag of victory. Our officers for this year were: Preszrlent ............................,..,........ Fred Derrick Vice'-Presizlent .,.. .,,,,, ,..,.,. J 0 yce Greer Secretary ....... .............. J oan Kuhn Treasurer ................................ Mary Thompson Ad'L'i.ver .......................................... Laura Glover Juniorsl how we despise that name. After all, we were the oldest ones in school now. We didn't let the name Juniorsl' discourage us, we just showed the others what we could do and once more we were victorious. Our first activity for this year was a trip to lvash- ington, D. C. VVe enjoyed this much more because we History earned the trip. lt was a reward for superior sales- manship in the magazine drive. One big feature was the Christmas dance with almost everyone taking part. It couldn't have turned out better. The prom, sponsored by the Juniors and Seniors, was the highlight of the year. Our officers and adviser who led the class this year were: President ,,,,,,.,,,, .......... D avid Kuhn Vice-President ..... ....... C harles Feaga Srrretary ..........,. ....... F rankie Curtis Treasurer ............. ........ J Oyce Greer Sergeant-at-Arms .... ..... ......... B i ll Cugle Adviser ,,,,,,,..,.,,,......,.....,............... Laura Glover With our class of thirty-three, we entered into our last year of high school. The pet peeve for this year was the term 'fDignified Seniors. We weren't dignified at all. We were as humble as ever and did everything we were Hmaden to do. Once more we won a trip to Washington, D. C. for superior salesmanship in the magazine campaign and what a time we had as one big happy family. The main feature this year is the year book. lt is keeping us very busy, but we know you will enjoy the finished product in years to come. Once more and for the last time, we sponsored the Christmas Dance which everyone seemed to enjoy. Although we have had all these activities, we did not neglect our studies. VVe are longing to hear the words, Well done thou Good and Faithful Servant, as we receive our diplomas on the night of graduation. We are very proud of our officers for the year, we are: Preszdent ....,.......,....................... Jean R21mSlJUl'g Vice-President ..,.. ....... C harles Fcaga Secretary .,.......... ........... J OyCC GFCCI' I ........Betty Nazelrod .......Bobbie Justice Treasurer ............. S ergmnt-at-.4 rms .... Adfpiyer ,,,,,,,,,....,, ...... L aura Glover
