3323? L L A M A R A D A 5355323 ACTIVITIES FRESHMEN INITIATION The Green Freshmen, as they are usually called, were initiated by the Sophomores at a party given in the old gym. From what we hear, the freshmen now think it is fun to run around the track with- out their shoes. They tried to feed them candy and when they didn't like the cotton in it, they made them go home. The Sophomores then had a nice time at their party. SENIORS GO TO VINCENNES The Senior Civics Class went to Vincennes to visit the George Rogers Clark Memorial. The opening event on the program was the Vincennes High School Band. Father Deery and Professor Lock- ridge gave talks on some of the things Clark has done for this coun- try. They toured all of the important places and came home feeling they had acquired much knowledge for use in the future. JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The play, Mystery at Midnight, was given by the Junior Class. It was a three act comedy, but I think most of the people were afraid -it was really spooky! These people were included in the cast: Eugene Miller, Virginia Day, Loester Powell, Marian Bastin, Geral- dine Cole, Juanita King, Eugene Moore, Charles May, Vera Taylor, and Samuel .Baynes. Q SENIORS SPONSOR TEXAS RANGERS 'The Texas Rangers , sponsored by the Senior Class, came to the old gym to give us a performance. They are from radio station WHAS in Louisville, Kentucky. There were quite a number of peo- ple who came out to see them perform, and I think everyone agreed that it was well worth their money. SENIORS SPONSOR SUNSHINE SUE AND ROCK-CREEK RANGERS Sunshine Sue and the Rock-Creek Rangers were here from station WHAS in Louisville, Kentucky. A large crowd attended the performance in which many of the students took part in an amateur contest. The Seniors sponsored the show, and it made us very happy when one of the girls in the class was a member of the quartet which won first prize. ' Forty

E3EiELLAMARADA5E?E? l l The Eagles, instructed by Coach Maurice Sakel, have been suc- cessful enough to win fourteen games from their twenty scheduled games. They were defeated by the following teams: West Baden, Bloomington, French Lick ftwicej, Dale, and Shoals. This year's record is above average: however, it does not rank as high as the record of last year. The team was unsuccessful in carrying away the laurels of the Wabash Valley Preliminary at Spencer, as they were defeated by Gosport in the final game. The Eagles have encountered different, as well as bigger and better, teams this year. The Eagles took part in the sectional held at Martinsville, Indiana. The team was lucky when it came to drawing, for they drew the by, but they were not quite so lucky when they met their team which was Mooresville. Mooresville won by a small margin, and that put the Eagles out for this year. But We are hoping that next year that noth- ing can put them out, that they can go ahead farther than any other team of Eagles has ever gone. Better luck next year to the Eagles! 1'l'l1i.v ficzgr Hzrmrglz H141 murff-.v-v of 17p-:orgy llzfdxmfj Forty-two
